1. ECONOMIC KNOWLEDGE

 (b) a brief description of your current level of understanding of economics. 
 With respect to (a) provide a list of economics courses you have taken, their length 
and level, where and when, and by whom they were taught (include NCEE seminars). 
 If you have studied economics independently,  please specify the level and overall content
 of economics textbooks you have read on your own.  If you have taught economics
 using any of these textbooks, please indicate what general concept areas you have covered
 and at what level.
COMMITMENT TO DEVELOPING ACTIVE LEARNING INSTRUCTIONAL   MATERIALS 
Describe your teaching experience (in any subject areas or levels), and summarize your
 skills as a teacher.  Please comment on your experience with a variety of teaching methods
 (such as lecture, discussion, small group exercises, simulations) and materials.  Discuss
 any experience you have had developing instructional materials.  Finally, indicate your
readiness to deepen your understanding of pedagogy and devote time to the development
 of active learning instructional lessons and ongoing revisions of those lessons.

November 9, 1998		First draft of lesson due to U.S. faculty
February 4, 1999		Second draft of lesson due to U.S. faculty
March 5-April 14, 1999	Classroom pilot tests of lesson
April 20, 1999			Final lesson due to U.S. faculty

6. ACCESS TO FIELD TEST TEACHERS IN YOUR LOCALITY
Participants will be required to field test their lessons in their countries.  Access
