CEEMAN and RABE invite you to join them in one of the most important
events for management development in Central and Eastern Europe -
their joint international conference on "Assessing Management
Training Needs in CEE Countries", that is going to take place in
Moscow, Russia, on June 3-5, 1999.
The conference will disseminate the findings and conclusions of a
recent research study, conducted by CEEMAN, encompassing more than
70 companies and about 1000 managers from five countries of our
region, namely, Bulgaria, Poland, Romania, Russia and Slovenia. The
study, in itself, marks one of the first attempts to assess
management training needs in CEE countries at the achieved level
of transition from the demand side. The picture of the needs
assessment will be further completed by speakers from other
countries, as they respond to the findings of the research study
and their relevance in the context of their own countries.
Distinguished speakers from the corporate world and academia are
invited to bring their perspectives on the link between the overall
company strategy and the human resources development strategy,
clearly articulating what are the needs of the companies for
developing their human resources at the achieved level of tran-
sition and how to best meet these needs.
This conference presents a unique opportunity for managers of local
and international companies that operate in Central and Eastern
Europe and the management training providers in the Region to meet
and exchange views with regards to training needs of enterprise
managers, the challenges that enterprises are facing and how
management training providers are prepared to help enterprises meet
these challenges.
The conference will also articulate some recommendations intended
for policy makers, international donor organizations and non-
governmental institutions, in a genuine effort to raise their
awareness with regards to these issues and to hopefully provide
some useful assistance in their decision making process and the
channeling of financial resources.
Last but not least, the conference will serve as a meeting place for
developing new professional relationships, exchange of information
and learning from best practices.
About 120-150 participants are expected to attend this event. The
Conference is targeting mainly:
* Enterprise managers
* Providers of management training services (especially deans and
  directors of business schools)
* Policy makers
* International donors
