Defense Forces Social Work Foundation

Defense Forces Social Work Foundation is a non-governmental organization--it holds a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization status--whose basic aim is through social work to assist military officers and their families to improve their well-being. The reform in the Bulgarian army has begun. In the next year about 7,000 military officers will be discharged and will face the reality outside the army. They need the support of society.

The discharged military officers are in their most productive period of life but they lack the habits, contacts and experience necessary to start their own business. In this connection a team of the "Defense Forces Social Work Foundation"--Bulgaria, introduced to the Embassy of USA in Sofia a project named: "Start up of small business incubator for discharged officers in consequence of the army reform." This project was approved and financed by the US Embassy.

The purpose of the project is further development of the support to the discharged officers, and other discharged military personnel in Sofia, in consequence of the army reform. We hope to help through start up and development of small business incubator, business education and counseling, networking in the local community, use and implementation of the good practices by business incubation.

We hope through this activity to contribute to the integration of our country into NATO and for their further democratization.

We hope to have your cooperation for the founding and establish a stable and perfectly functioning this business incubator with international partner.

We hope to have long and successful cooperation.

Looking forward to hearing from you!

Sincerely yours,

Krastyo Skachkov
