Subject: Seeking Internship/Language Study in the CIS
I am studying international development in a Masters program at Columbia
University in New York City. I am interested in working for a disaster
relief or development organization in the CIS while studying Russian
after I graduate in May. I am especially interested in working in an
organization that deals with relief or development aid, microenterprise
or gender and development issues. I would like to apply for a grant that
would cover my transportation, minimal living expenses and language study
and would allow me to work for a grassroots or intl organization in the
CIS for at least a year, but I need to identify both an organization I could
work/intern for and a language program in which I could study Russian.
Does anyone know of relief or development organizations in the CIS that
may be in need of an intern in May and/or a good program for intensive
Russian language study? Any information (names, tel, fax numbers or
e-mail addresses) would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks for your help!
