The purpose of this message is to inform about an exciting opportunity for
students and teachers.
Camp America functioned very sucessfully for the first time in July of
1995. It's objective is to provide an intensive but fun-filled educational
experience for Russian students of the English language. The Camp is a bit
of America in the middle of Russia and simulates in every way the unique
specific atmosphere of the American way of life, culture and language.
Camp Russia is a highly specialized camp & cruise experience for
International students who wish to make the study of Russia and the
Russian language an exciting, fun-filled adventure.
The camps lie side by side, promoting maitainance of their unique
atmospheres while providing the opportunity to enhance and reinforce one
another through shared projects. They are located in one of the most
picturesque settings on the famed Volga River where it passes through the
progressive city of Togliatti ..aprox. 1000 kilometers east and south of
Moscow.
This year's camp for students of 14-17 years of age will take place from
June 20th - July 3rd and include a 3-4 day cruise to Nizhni-Novgorod with
tours to interesting cities of the way. Costs to the American students
will be in two parts...flight costs to Moscow (approx. $1,000.) and an
"interior charge" of $500.00 which will include travel to and from
Togliatti, camp expenses and the cruise. All travel and activities will be
well monitored and chaperoned. Students, teachers and counsellors are
needed for both camps.
