*****************************************************************
The Alma-Ata School of Management (ASM) was established in December 1988
with the aim of providing management at all levels with skills for
operating in the rapidly changing economic situation, and promoting the
population's economic literacy. It is Kazakstan's first private business
school.
After establishing links with several foreign business centers, ASM
started training its staff abroad and in the best management centers in
Russia and the Baltic countries. By now, nearly all of the professors have
been trained abroad and four staff members are enrolled in MBA programs.
ASM has developed courses for joint-stock and holding companies,
international hotels, and banks. ASM offers various programs in General
Management and Marketing, Finance, International Business and Language
Training. Another of ASM's strengths is the enthusiasm and creativity of
the professors and the General Director, Mr. Assylbeck Kozhakhmetov.
By now over 4500 students from all over the country have gained knowledge
in economics and acquired management skills at ASM. The foreign language
programs - taught locally at the Oxford Center School of English and other
British institutions, and in several American universities - are in steady
demand.
The School participates in and organizes local and international
conferences on management problems and is involved in several
international projects helping Kazakstan to implement a market economy. At
present, ASM is developing an MBA Program.
For more information about the program, and opportunities to
cooperate on projects of mutual interest, please feel free to
