        Dear List members,

I am a certified Russian physician. I received my Diploma of
Internist from Chelyabinsk State Medical Academy, South Urals, Russia. In
May 1996 I was admitted to the Yale University School of Medicine,
Department of Epidemiology and Public Health, Division of Health Policy
and Administration (Management Track). Besides, I have been recently
officially offered a Merit scholarship which is to cover a half tuition
for each of two years of study.

However, even being granted partial financial aid from the school,
I have serious financial constraints. Unfortunately, I am not being
sponsored by any AID programs. At the same time it appears that neither I
nor my family are able to provide necessary support for my education at
YU.

There are practically no places in the former NIS countries where
I could really study Health Management because the discipline is just
emerging at Russian universities. Nevertheless, being devoted to the goal
of contributing to the unfolding health care reform in my country I
sincerely hope that I will finally have this outstanding opportunity to
get exposed to how the US health care management system resolves some of
the basic problems in policy and administration area.

That is why currently I am seeking sources of financial support
for my education at Yale. I feel strongly there might be some
possibilities to obtain funding but I am not sure what they are.

I would very much appreciate any advice or suggestions you could
make about what would be helpful in my case. I am looking forward to
hearing from you.

Please, contact me at [email protected]

Thank you.
Sincerely,
Sophia Kazakova
