The Regional Environmental Center for Central and Eastern Europe (REC) has
started the public testing phase for its new Internet based service code named
EnviroPhantom.
The EnviroPhantom is an Yahoo-like search/indexing robot which crawls Internet
sites dedicated to environmental issues in the Central and Eastern European
(CEE) Region. Currently there are over 11,000 pages indexed including
information from over 30 Internet sites dedicated to CEE environmental issues.
The service is currently accessible at:
Please be aware that at this point we don't have a "Yahoo-like" hardware to
support this service. Currently the EnviroPhantom is running on the same
machine as our Web server, so, searches can be a bit slow.
If you are aware of a site which is not being indexed by the Phantom, please
submit your URLs with a short description of the site to submit your URLs with a short description of the site to [email protected].
If you submit 10 or more URLs covering environmental information in the CEE
Region, you'll receive a free REC "Endangered Species" T-Shirt.
Check also our EnviroDirectory, a database with information about more than 400
Internet Environment related sites at:

All other questions, bugs, comments should also be directed to
