The association "Novy Vzglyad" (New Look) a nonprofit grassroots
organization, was created and officially registered in August 1995 to
focus on children's issues. With the help of teachers, psychologists,
sociologists, and lawyers, the "New Look" develops new forms of working
with children. The organization's major projects include:
* Annual open children's software contest "KidSoft" in Voronezh.
* Regular seminars for schoolchildren on programming conducted by
professionals;
* Children's publishing house;
* Children's information agency "Teen-Press";
* City newspaper for schoolchildren "Friday.
The organization's work on these projects will further continue to enable
publication of up to 10 regional newspapers and magazines and up to 40
school publications; to organize distribution of these publications to
children free of charge; to establish an information center for
collecting, analyzing, and distributing children related materials; to
create a regional database of children's organizations and clubs; and to
provide means for organizing major All-Russian events for children in
Voronezh. The "New Look's" believes that these initiatives will help
children and teenagers learn to publically discuss so cial and other
important issues and to exercise the freedom of speech and
self-expression. The organization's goal is to form children and
teenagers into active and participating citizens of their country.
