                                        x-posted from Belarus list

Dear Listmembers,

my name is Alexander Chirkov, I am a leader of non-formal
NGO located in Minsk which is known as "School-2" Group
among youth and environmental NGOs of Belarus. We have
been working for approximately one year in the field of
   grassroots non-governmental initiatives focusing predominately
on the information, publishing and telecommunications.

In the list of our achievements are, among others, information
support of The First All-Belorusian Youth Forum (Minsk,
January, 1996), Youth Exchange Project "Tiltas" ("Bridge",
Lithuania, September 1996), launching the environmental
   electronic bulletin "EcoInform" (spring-summer, 1996).

Till now S-2 has taken part in various NGO-related events,
international exchange programs, seminars etc. We work in
close co-operation with National Youth Council of Belarus
(RADA), number of youth and environmental organisations and
   associations.

Today we begin (or, more correctly, continue) to publish our
   "EcoInform" (Belarus-related environmental news, comments,
discussions, press-monitoring; language - Russian) to be
disseminated for free via E-mail to all interested
organisations/individuals in Belarus, Ukraine, Russia (hope this
list is not complete :) We have plans to place the bulletin on
the WWW as well and issue bimonthly printed digest of it.

We will appreciate a lot any sort of environment-related
   information regarding Belarus.

After all of our "ups and downs" now we intend to "grow and
expand" concentrating mainly, as before, on youth activity and
information technologies for we find these spheres the most
effective and interesting ones to work in and be able to see
results. This gives the possibility to deal with a lot of issues, let
it be environment protection or art, education or literature in
our capacity as an information intermediary etc.

We would be very glad to establish contacts and communicate
with people/NGOs around the globe that are
   interested/working in the matters afore-mentioned.

We will answer all the questions off the list if any.

Please do not hesitate to contact us:

Yours sincerely,
Alexander Chirkov
S-2
