Interlegal/Kazakhstan has recently published a manual on:
Legal regulations of non-commercial organizations
in Kazakhstan

The book illuminates discusses such issues as:
* how regulations are create,
* how to register with the government
* tax obligations and benefits
* reporting and responsibility
* sources of funding in Kazakhstan
In addition the manual includes texts and excerpts
from the laws and acts that regulate non-commercial organizations in
Kazakhstan.
Publication of the manual was sponsored by the American Legal
Consortium and the Counterpart Consortium. 500 copies were printed in
December 1996 and will be distributed free of charge among Kazakhstan NGOs,
NGOs in other countries of the former Soviet Union, and international
non-commercial organizations working in the NIS. Shipping costs cannot be
covered by Interlegal.
A similar publication for non-commercial organizations of Central Asia is
planned for 1997.

Interlegal/ Kazakhstan assists voluntary organizations in
Kazakhstan and other Central Asian countries by offering
consultations on the following issues:
a) creating an organization and getting registered with the government;
b) tax assessments and tax breaks;
c) administrative issues;
d) grant work (writing proposals, funding opportunities, reporting on
grants);
e) preparing proposed legislation that regulate the activity of voluntary
associations and non-commercial organizations;
f) legal regulations on charitable work
g) organizing the work of voluntary legal services.
