        International Women's Forum

The Center for International Private Enterprise (CIPE) has recently
announced plans to host a 3-day international forum to identify the
challenges facing women's business organizations and to develop strategies
to improve their effectiveness. The Forum will be held in Washington, DC
September 22-24, 1997.

CIPE is an affiliate of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and has conducted
projects in 70 countries in Africa, Asia, Eastern Europe, Latin America
and the NIS.

In preparation for the conference CIPE is administering a survey (see
<http://www.cipe.org/women/survey.html>) to determine the most pressing
needs of women's business organizations worldwide. This survey is a vital
part of selecting topics for the forum, and planning CIPE's new initiatives
in support of women entrepreneurs and their business organizations
worldwide. Individual responses will be kept confidential but compiled with
the other responses to develop strategies and programming. The results will
be shared with all the organizations that participated in the survey.
Finally, CIPE will identify potential conference participants among the
survey respondents and issue special invitations to those selected.

Additional information on this program will be made available on the CIPE
Web site at <http://www.cipe.org/women/>. For more information you can
