Rebirth of Voluntarism in East-Central Europe: An East-West Dialogue

The Democracy Network Program of Hungary and the Non-Profit Financial Center
Foundation, kindly invite you to attend the international conference, to be
held on June 20-22, 1997 in Szentendre, Hungary.
You will have an opportunity to meet other professionals from numerous
countries, to share your experience, and to gain insight into new concepts
and ideas for improving your own work. Taking these themes into
consideration, we are organizing the conference with the following purpose
in mind:
Fostering an East-West dialogue between nonprofit organizations which
focuses on the role of voluntarism and its social impact, through a mutual
exchange of views and experience.
Experts from Central Eastern and Western Europe will offer techniques and
practical advice for the organization of voluntary work. Researchers who are
currently analyzing the importance and social impact of voluntarism at a
regional level will also be present to report on their work. In this manner,
the conference will provide an opportunity for Central Eastern and Western
European civil organizations to meet and introduce their work to one another.
The National Forum Foundation is offering a special opportunity for NGOs
from Central Eastern European countries to attend the conference through
financial support in the form of a NFF Regional Exchange Program Grant
(limited to one grantee per CEE country). DemNet and NFF are also offering
50 USD grants (in limited numbers).
