I have today reviewed a copy of "Economic Transition Report 1996"
- a book published recently by the Central and Eastern European
Privatization Network (CEEPN). List members who have been on the
CEEMAN-L list for quite some time know that the CEEPN publishes
an annual edition devoted to economic transition and privatiza-
tion in transition economies. It is probably the most useful
publication I receive each year. The current edition has been
edited by Andreja Bohm.

The current edition is a 526-page, high-quality paperbound book,
presenting detailed analyses of recent transition activities in
Albania, Belarus, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Estonia,
Georgia, Hungary, Kazakstan, Kyrgyzstan, Latvia, Lithuania,
Macedonia, Moldova, Mongolia, Poland, Romania, Russian Federa-
tion, Slovak Republic, Slovenia, and Turkmenistan. Each country
report is written by a senior official from that country - usual-
ly one directly involved in transition and privatization activi-
ties. Country chapter are between 20 and 50 pages long.

Sorry to report that I do not know the cost of the current edi-
tion. However, to give you an idea of the approximate cost, I can
tell you that previous annual editions have been in the range of
USD30. Unlikely it will be less this year - but also unlikely it
will be amazingly higher. Apologies in advance if I am terribly
wrong about the current cost.

Also sorry to report that I have been unable to locate an e-mail
address for the CEEPN. However, I have below provided more tradi-
tional contact coordinates, in the event you care to inquire
about the cost and availability of the new edition.

CEEPN has published an annual edition for several years, and some
past editions may also be available for purchase. It may be
useful to inquire about the cost and availability of prior edi-
tions. For list members not familiar with the interests and
activities of the CEEPN, it may also be interesting to request
more information about the CEEPN.
