              *** SUMMER INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITY IN SIBERIA ***

        Educated Choices Heighten Opportunities, Inc. (ECHO) is seeking
candidates for an internship position at its Community Resource Center in
Krasnoyarsk, Russia. The suggested period for this position is from June 1,
1997, to August 15, 1997. Specific starting and ending dates are
negotiable.

        This is a volunteer position. Costs of travel and non-housing
living expenses are the responsibility of the intern. ECHO will cover
housing expenses in Russia.

        The intern will help carry out project activities and program
development as well as provide general administrative support. Examples of
specific duties are editing the quarterly newsletter, maintaining the
center's database, working with youth in a summertime volunteer program,
preparation work for seminars and trainings, assisting in the presentation
of seminars, scheduling center events, facilitating communication with
seminar alumni, monitoring the resource center, orienting new users to the
resource center, and some miscellaneous administrative support work.

        During the course of the internships, a candidate will be expected
to work 20 - 30 hours a week. Scheduling of these hours is flexible.

        Candidate should have or currently be pursuing a bachelor's or
master's degree in Russian studies preferably with a humanitarian focus and
possess strong conversational skills in Russian. Office experience
including work with Microsoft Windows is strongly desired. Successful
applicants need to be flexible self-starters with good organizational skills
and the ability to work on several assignments at the same time.
