I just wanted to remind you that Stanford University New Democracy
Fellowship's deadline will be on October 31, 1997.
Students should send their application forms to Stanford University or
to our office (see addresses below). The most important is that they
should be in one of these places by this date.

Up to five fellowship will be offered to students from ECE and the former
Soviet Union who wish to pursuePh.D. studies in anthropology, history,
political science, sociology or psychology. One-year fellowships will be
awarded initially, but upon successful completion of the first year, students
will be eligible for up to three additional years of study towards a Ph.D.
