Dear Colleagues:

My name is Dr.. Svetlana Aslanyan. I am a linguist, and Professor of
Russian and Armenian Languages in Yerevan, Armenia. Currently, I am a
visiting scholar at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, researching
on the topic of "Post-Communist Armenia: Women and Women's NGO's in
Civil Society."

In Armenia, I am President of the Armenian Woman's Organization, Ghevond
Alishan Scientist Women's Council. We are interested in collaborating
with your groups. In December, 1996, we created a sub-group, called
"The Center for Development of Civil Society." The main goal of this
new organization is to promote ideas about democracy and civil society
and promote pluralism and diversity (in cultural, religious, linguistic,
and political areas).
