ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT/ REGIONAL INVESTMENT SPECIALIST
A U.S. Government-funded program is looking for an experienced
professional to launch a new project aimed at increasing investment in
the Samara Oblast of Russia. Candidates must be U.S. citizens available
to work in Samara for one year, beginning in early 1998 (with a possible
extension for a second year). This position requires energetic
self-starters with excellent interpersonal skills, who are excited about
the challenge of living and working in one of Russia's most dynamic
regions. Compensation will be determined based on the selected
candidate's qualifications and salary history.
The position requires fluency in Russian language; prior experience
working in Russia or other former Soviet states; knowledge of issues
related to foreign and domestic investment in Russia; familiarity with
U.S. government assistance and investment promotion programs in Russia,
and willingness to travel extensively.
Relevant background includes experience in investment and trade
promotion; experience in financial sector development; experience in
small/medium enterprise lending and/or microcredit programs, and proven
ability to work effectively with U.S. government assistance providers,
private sector organizations, and Russian governmental and
non-governmental entities.
