Subject: Transition Report 1997 from EBRD
I have just posted the attached announcement to my CEE/NIS list
(CEEMAN-L). Given the broad coverage of the report, some members
of this list may find the announcement useful/interesting. Let me
assure list members that I am not affiliated with EBRD, but I do
consider the Transition Report an important annual publication,
and deserving of wide distribution.

Transition Report 1997 from EBRD

I have received ordering information for Transition Report 1997,
published by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development
(EBRD). As I have noted in past postings, the Transition Report
is the most outstanding annual publication available on economic
developments in the CEE/NIS regions.
Below I have presented some information from the EBRD website
(http://www.ebrd.com/) regarding both the Transition Report and
the Transition Report Update. Ordering information is also pre-
sented. It appears that inquiries regarding publications can be
directed to: [email protected]
-----------------------------------------------------------------
TRANSITION REPORT 1997. The Transition Report is a unique source
of information on economic developments in Central and Eastern
Europe and the former Soviet Union. Drawing on the EBRD 's
experience as a main investor in 26 countries in the region, the
Transition Report offers comprehensive analysis of each country's
progress in the transition towards establishing a market economy.
Country-by-country tables and summaries provide invaluable infor-
mation on progress in the key areas of market liberalisation and
competition, enterprise restructuring and privatisation, finan-
cial sector reform and legal reform.
In April 1998 an accompanying publication, the Transition Report
Update will provide more recent statistics and an analysis of
major developments in structural reform and macro-stabilisation.
