I would like to take this opportunity to introduce to you Yaroslavl
Regional Society of Pedagogics and Culture (YRSPC). YRSPC is Non-Profit,
Non-Governmental society, located in Yarolavl, Russia (it is big city in
the Central European part of Russia). It's mission is to promote a social
and cultural progress in Yaroslav region through developing new models in
education and helping young people in their social grouth and development.
GOALS OF SOCIETY
Society is non-profit organization. The main goals of Society are
to help people in the process of adaptation to new system in Russia,to
develop idea of good style of life through young people, to disseminate
the idea of democratic and civilization relationships between people
and to increase the value of the education and culture in our life.
INTERNATIONAL ACTIVITY
During 1992-1997 years Society developed contact with some
schools and high schools of the Netherland. We've organized educational
and cultural trips of teachers and students.
INSTRUCTIVE ACTIVITY
The members of Society use any opportunity to speak to students,
teachers and school's psychologists and tell about the system of
education in Holland, about goals and methods of education in modern
society.
Members of society develop several projects with Yaroslavl Youth
Department in professional, personal and social grouth of young people.
Instructive activity of Society closely connected with spreading
ideas of democratic education.
SCIENTIFIC ACTIVITY
Thanks to organizing activity of society we managed to create
conditions for research in comparison education. Marnix Academy gave
N.Ivanova opportunities to gather material about the influence of
education on personalities of pupils. The result of observation and
research made in Holland were discussed on teacher's conference and
student's conferences in 1992, 1993, 1994, 1995, 1996 y. and in
Novgorod on International conference "Comparison education" on September
1995.
Scientific research also are doing as the part of other projects,
fullfilling by the society's members, such as projects on youth pesonal
development and groth, reeducational projects for teachers and social
workers etc.
PUBLICATIONS
Society together with department of education of Yaroslavs State
Pedagogical University published the collection of articles named "The
lessons of Comensky".
ACTIVITY IN AESTHETICS EDUCATION
We support a school of aesthetics education of Yaroslavl artifice
museum. We also took part in organization of exhibition of children's
drawings from Yaroslavl and Utrecht which took place in Yaroslavl Art
Museum on January 1994 and at schools in Yaroslavl in 1995-1997.
STUDENT'S PSYCHOLOGICAL AND EDUCATIONAL CLUB.
One of the initiative of the Society - opening the club for
students who have a real interest in psychology and education.
Students work with teenagers, young people and retured people. They
organize workshops, classes and special activity for different people,
especially for disadvantaged pupuls and people in transtion.
THE MEANS OF SOCIETY
Till now the society has lived on the help of sponsors. This money
is too little for systematically functioning of the Society.
MAIN FIELDS OF ACTIVITY
Our activities include counsulting in education and psychology,
training, workshops, education and information distribution.
Society organizes counseling activity for children, teenagers and
young people. More than 150 teachers and students take part in our
workshops every year.
ACTIVITY FOR PROBLEM CHILDREN
Society organize activity for disadvantaged children, teenagers and
young people. Every summer the summer camps invite group of Society's
members to work with such kids and people.
STATUS OF THE SOCIETY
The Society is independent structure but it has regular contact
with the Administration of Yaroslavl region.
FURTHURE DEVELOPMENT
One of our biggest accomplishment has been the creation of cultural
and social guides for young people in transition in modern society in
Russia. This guides will include information about NGOs and other
organizations, developing this process, theoretical and practical issues in
this work.
