The Moscow Representative Office of The Institute of International
Education (IIE) is accepting applications for a program assistant
position.
This position is a part of the Regional Educational Advising
Consultancy (REAC), a program funded by the United States
Information Agency. REAC's mission is to develop and strengthen
the network of EICs (Educational Information Centers) in the Newly
Independent States (NIS) and to serve as the chief resource to
EICs on academic advising and other educational issues.
The program assistant will report to the Regional Educational
Advising Coordinator. The assistant will have program
responsiblities which may include:
I. Assisting in the Development of Computer-based Training
Modules for Advisers in NIS EICs:
* maintain/manage contributor pre-program correspondence files
* collect completed module programs from trainees and distribute
to trainers/evaluators
* manage payments for services
II. Developing and Maintaining Comprehensive Database of NIS
Advising Services:
* distribute and collect database surveys to/from EICs
* maintain and updating the database using new information
* using completed surveys, assist in creating an "EIC Analysis"
report
* answer requests for information using database statistics
III. Developing and Maintaining Word-Wide Web - REAC Home Page:
* entering selected data and articles in a new REAC Home Page on
the WWW
* maintain regular weekly updates to Home Page
* serve as "master" for the REAC home page by answering
correspondence
IV. Ongoing Program Administration
* answering REAC program correspondence
* receiving and processing of EIC user statistics
* maintenance and distribution of REAC informational packs
* assistance with organizing REAC travel (reservations, visas,
schedules)
* maintenance of program finances and finance reports
Successful candidates will:
* be Russian citizens
* be highly-proficient in English, including writing
* possess good management, correspondence, and intercultural
skills
Candidates will preferably have:
* experience using Microsoft Word, data bases, and HTML
* experience working in a nonprofit or educational organization
* studied in the United States in some capacity
* office financial management/bookkeeping experience
IIE will provide training in working with database programs and
HTML document creation and maintenance.
Salary and work hours will be dependent on candidate experience
and qualifications, and will be discussed on an individual basis
with all invited for interviews.
