Subject: new idea for online philanthropy
Interesting idea . . .
----------
Eyegive
www.eyegive.com
"Here's a clever concept in wired philanthropy: Eyegive, a new company,
allows Web surfers to earn money for their favorite charities without
leaving their keyboards-or opening their wallets.
The idea is simple. Web users register at the Eyegive site
(www.eyegive.com), select or nominate the nonprofit organization they would
most like to give money to, and set the Eyegive Web site as their default
homepage.
Then, when members open their browsers, a personalized home page displays
advertisements from Eyegive sponsors. Any click on the page earns between
5 and 20 cents for the preselected charity.
Along with mainstream organizations like the AMA, members can nominate
local nonprofits that don't get national exposure. Eyegive verifies each
nomination and then adds the group to the approved list."
