We invite you to take part in International Distant Heuristic Olympiad - II!

                                    Don't be afraid of crazy ideas!
                                    Remember you are a genius!

In February, 1997 The First International Distant Heuristic Olympiad was held
among the students of five countries. You can see its results on:

We invite students of 6-16 years (1-11 grades) to take part in International
Distant Heuristic Olympiad - II, which is planned to be held in March 10-12,
1998.
There are three age groups of participants: 1) 1-4 grades (6-9 y.o.);
2) 5-8 grades (10-14 y.o.); 3) 9-11 grades (15-16 y.o.).
To take part in the Olympiad you should have E-mail
and wish to compete in creation with children from all the world.

This Olympiad Goals:

1. Give the opportunity to the students of different schools and cities
   to show their creative abilities with the help of electronic technology (e-mail).

2. Give the opportunity to the students and teachers to know distant forms of
   learning and developing of creative abilities of students and teachers.

The Olympiad consisits of such nominations as "Phenomen", "Symbol",
"Research" and likewise. The nomination tasks are open - they don't have
beforehand known answers. To do the tasks you should think of your versions,
give your own opinions, carry out your research, but not to send the
already known information. The main criterea of estimation of students works
are non-typical answers, creative efficiency, depth of world-view.

Taking Part in Olympiad:

1. The participants can be both individuals and organized school or club
   groups of students (no more than 10 students in every age group).

2. To take part in the Olympiad individuals (their parents) should send
 an application form no later than March 8, 1998 via E-mail:

3. The application from a group of students is sent by their coordinator
   (teacher) with all the necessary information on participants.

4. This Olympiad is a non-commercial one so all the expenses for
   the local organization of competitions including awards to the winners
   should be taken by schools and coordinators.

5. The winners will be awarded the medals of International Academy of
  Pedagogic, Russia. They will also have the opportunity to learn free
  on distant courses of Center "Eidos":

Application Form of the Participant

1. Student's name (Surname).
2. A boy or a girl.
3. Date of birth.
4. School, City, Country.
5. E-mail for receiving Olympiad tasks and the results.
6. Name, E-mail and Phone of local coordinator (teacher).

After recieving applications from individual or school group they are sent
Olympiad tasks. The works of participants you should send
to [email protected]
The winners will be chosen both in every nomination and in the total sum
for all the nominations.
