JOB: Project Manager in Abkhazia, Georgia

Counterpart International seeks individual to manage a proposed project
for the rehabilitation of healthcare facilities in the Abkhazia region
of the Republic of Georgia in the Newly Independent States of the former
Soviet Union. This position requires an 18 month commitment beginning
mid-May 1998.

Requirements for Applicants:

Masters in Management, International Relations, or related field - if
doesn't have Masters, must have demonstrable, applicable work experience

Demonstrated leadership and management ability in a fast-paced
environment within a collaborative team structure including US partner
organization, local stakeholders and expatriate and local staff

Strong skills and experience in disaster relief and crisis/conflict
resolution

Extensive community development experience and demonstrated ability to
apply participatory concepts and methods to project design,
implementation, monitoring, and evaluation

Strong communication skills with the ability to liaison effectively with
government officials and local leaders in an transitional political
environment

Russian and English proficiency

Field office experience, preferred experience working in the NIS
