             Public Interest Protection League
                    Zugdidi, Georgia

The Public Interest Protection League is a non-governmental organization
based in Zugdidi, Georgia, that was established in January 1998. The
main priorities of the PIPL are raising awareness of human rights,
environmental issues and promotion of the non-profit sector. It has been
running an NGO Development and Support Center. It has also published
and distributed its newsletter, "Right To Speech," as well as other
materials donated by such organizations as USIS, WWF, and NDI to NGOs,
government agencies and educational institutions in Zugdidi, Kutaisi,
and Tbilisi. It hopes to conduct research, organize conferences, and
provide consulting services related to the rule of law, environmental
protection, and civic responsibility. PIPL would welcome materials
which it could distribute for free.
