Project Director of Partnership for Reform Program in Ukraine
Freedom House
Freedom House is seeking applicants for the position of Project
Director of its Partnership for Reform Program in Ukraine (PRU). The purpose
of this program is to strengthen the effectiveness and sustainability of
public policy institutes (PPIs), or think tanks, in Ukraine.
The PRU Program will provide financial (grant making), training,
networking, and technical assistance to non-governmental groups that are
active in the research, development, advocacy, and implementation of
initiatives that promote political and economic reform in Ukraine. The
budget for this project is approximately $1.7 million over 3 years. The
project is funded by the US Agency for International Development. It will be
administered by the Program Director and two program officers in Kyiv.
The ideal candidate will have excellent leadership capabilities,
be results oriented, and possess superior communication and management
skills. Applicants should have at least five years of project management
experience in democratic development programs. The strongest applicants will
have grant-making and monitoring experience, and be familiar with Ukraine's
public policy institutes and non-governmental organization (NGO) community.
Knowledge of CEE NGOs, particularly think tanks, is also desirable.
Applicant must be conversant in either Russian or Ukrainian.
Familiarity with U.S. government program requirements and procedures,
particularly the U.S. Agency for International Development is a plus. Salary
range is $35,000-45,000 commensurate with experience.
