NIS Exchanges Division, IREX
IREX, a leader in international education and training seeks a Program
Officer for its NIS Exchanges Division. Duties will include: managing
international research fellowship program for scholars from the NIS;
assisting with recruitment and selection of fellows; developing
US-based orientation programs for NIS fellows; managing and monitoring
placement of fellows with US hosts; coordinating with USG funders;
developing and overseeing contract budgets; supervising junior staff
working on program; being a liaison with IREX field staff; assisting
in proposal design and development and program reporting; and
developing and organizing DC policy briefings and seminars for the US
academic and policy communities. Requirements: knowledge of and
interest in the former Soviet region; minimum one year experience
working on international programs, preferably academic and exchange
programs; strong computer skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint,
Internet); fluency in Russian and/or other NIS language; and minimum
