ISAR Brown Bag Lunch on Community Development in Azerbaijan
As part of ISAR's on-going Caucasus brown bag series, we invite you to participate in a discussion with a group of visitors from Azerbaijan focusing on community development. The visitors are taking part in a three-week training program, sponsored by USAID's Global Training for Development Program and coordinated by Delphi International. The twelve participants, representing local and international NGOs, work with communities of internally displaced persons in Azerbaijan to mobilize support for and participation in community improvement projects and activities.
While in the Washington area, they will be meeting with community development and refugee organizations operating at the national and international level. Participants will also have the opportunity to visit inner city community development programs which will offer a point of comparison to the rural communities that they will later visit in West Virginia as they explore how community development issues are addressed at the state and grassroots levels.
The brown bag lunch will provide a venue for these individuals to discuss their work, interests and observations. It will also offer the participants a chance to meet with and hear from members of the Washington, DC community interested or involved in NGO development in the Caucasus.
