Mailing Lists: Management Education in Transition Countries
-----------------------------------------------------------------
The Maine Business School manages three internet mailing lists
which may be of interest to list members who follow management
education issues in transition economies.
The mailing list for the Russian Association of Business
Education (RABE) has been activated today. A brief profile of
RABE-L is attached to this note. For more information about
the Russian Association of Business Education, please feel
free to contact Natalia Evtikhieva, Director General of RABE. Her
e-address: [email protected]
The Maine Business School also manages two related lists: UKRAINE
and CEEMAN-L. The UKRAINE list (114 list members in 9 countries)
serves a purpose similar to that of the RABE-L list, but focuses
on management education topics in Ukraine.. The CEEMAN-L list
(821 list members in 45 countries), managed on behalf of the
Central and East European Management Development Association
(CEEMAN), located in Slovenia, posts announcements related to
management education in the Baltics, Central/Eastern Europe,
Russia, Central Asia, Mongolia, and Vietnam. Postings to the
CEEMAN-L list are archived at the University of Geneva. To review
postings to date in 1998, you may go the following URL:

List members who would like to be on any of the lists can send a
request directly to me at the e-mail address noted below.

Profile: RABE-L Internet List
-----------------------------------------------------------------
RABE-L is an internet mailing list administered at the Maine
Business School (USA) on behalf of the Russian Association of
Business Education (RABE) and managed by Dr. Dennis McConnell.
Most list members are representatives of business schools and
management training programs in Russia, and international
organizations interested in working with business schools in
Russia.
The primary purpose of RABE-L is to provide information to
faculty and academic administrators in Russia who have been
isolated from important information sources for many years. The
list also seeks to facilitate cooperation and collaboration among
business schools and management training institutions in Russia.
The list serves more as a bulletin board than as a traditional
internet discussion list. The list is moderated (all messages to
the list are first screened by the list manager) - a feature
which protects the e-mail budgets of list members who are
required to pay substantial fees to receive e-mail at some
locations in Russia.
As list manager, my task is to monitor many electronic and print
information sources, to learn of new publications and information
resources, academic conferences, publishing and consulting
opportunities, and funding programs for research and academic
exchanges. Any information that would seem to be of interested to
Russian business/management educators is posted to RABE-L.
Interested individuals from other countries are welcome to join
the mailing list, and may find some of the postings useful /
interesting. However, the primary purpose of the list is to serve
the information needs of Russian faculty and educational
administrators.
Faculty and administrators in Russian business schools, manag-
ement training institutions, and economics programs, and other
individuals interested in the development of such programs in
Russia, can be added to the RABE-L mailing list by sending a
message directly to the list manager ([email protected]). Please
provide your name, e-mail address, postal address, institutional
affiliation, and academic/professional interests.
