International Exchange Organization Book Available
I am pleased to announce the arrival of our publication, the 1998
International Exchange Locator: A Resource Directory for Educational and
Cultural Exchange, 1998 Edition (ISBN 087206-244-9).
Our publication is a comprehensive directory of cultural and
educational exchange organizations throughout the United States-- including
useful details for university career centers and international education
administrators--such as addresses, websites and e-mail, phone/fax numbers,
and who to contact for more information. The Locator also includes
information on exchange programs and services offered by the profiled
organization as well as its overall mission and size. Our book is a
first-ever collaborative edition with the United States Information Agency
(USIA), and as you'll see, it comprises the most extensive collection of
information on international exchange resources available anywhere.
For those of you familiar with the 1996 edition, you may be interested
to know that:
* The new Locator costs only $11.95 (less than half the cost
of the last edition)
* Our book has twice as many sections as the last edition to
make the information easier to reference
* The Locator offers the most detailed, accurate information
on U.S-based nonprofit organizations active in international
exchange
* A new section profiles organizations and associations which
offer "industry-specific" exchange programs (even though
exchange programs are not the main focus of their
activities).
* Another new section lists organizations providing research
or facilitative services which contribute broadly to the
international exchange field.
* We profile congressional committees which fund and oversee
federally-sponsored exchange programs such as the Fulbright
program.
* Two expanded sections present the most up-to-date and
extensive compilation of exchange and training programs
offered throughout the federal government, not only in
federal agencies with a foreign affairs mission, but also in
those with a more domestic focus.
* Tables at the end of the book provide a fingertip overview
of which exchange organizations offer programs in specific
geographical regions and countries, academic levels (K-12,
scholar, teacher exchange, and more), and which offer
cultural and professional exchange programs.
To reserve your copy of the Locator, please fill out the order form
and send it with a check to the Alliance (mailing address below).
Quantities are limited, so we encourage you to reserve your copy as soon as
possible. The Alliance's federal tax ID number is 52-1439709. Please call
me or e-mail me at [email protected] if you have any questions on
ordering our unique publication.
Sincerely,
Julie M. Taiber, Editor
