The foundation "Help for Our Children" was established on 08 July 1992, at
the air base of Cheshnegirovo, region of Plovdiv, Bulgaria. The basic
aims of the foundation are the developing of the charity for the orphans
of the deceased army people, giving money for the medical treatment of the
foundation's members and founders, helping the children of the invalid
members of the foundation. Our basic activities are giving charity-
humanitarian, cultural and educational help to these children. We achieve
our aims independently or with the help of other people and organizations.
The foundation is financed by monthly donations from the members,
voluntary donations of persons and organizations. At the moment the
voluntary donors are 515 people.
In the 1997 the foundation won a grant for its project "Institutional
development and technical equipment," financed by the PHARE-Program,
together with the foundation "Development of Civil Society"--Sofia. The
purpose of the project is to expand the donation and humanitarian
activity-range. This will be done on an institutional and regional level.
That means founding separate sections, around Plovdiv. We have the desire
to expand the activity by starting giving charity to the orphaned children
of soldiers (in the air bases).
We would greatly appreciate all kinds of assistance thatthose who share
our concerns might give us. We would like to ask you to help us
establish contacts with other funds or organizations, with similar
activities in your country. Thank you for your attention to this matter.
