Subject: Education for Democracy/International Database

 Dear Colleagues:

As you may know, the American Federation of Teachers Educational
Foundation maintains the Education for Democracy/International Database
(EDID) of organizations and individuals from around the world that are
involved in civic education for democracy programs. One of the primary
objectives of the database is to facilitate communication within the
worldwide civic education community via an accurate compilation of
information on these organizations and individuals.

We are currently updating and expanding the information in the database,
and would appreciate your help in updating the listing for you or your
 organization.

We prefer that you do this by completing the interactive form on Civnet,
an Internet-based website for civic educators, which can be accessed at
www.civnet.org/orgprog/bymap.htm. If you cannot access Civnet, please
fill out the information requested below and return it to us via e-mail.
The Education for Democracy/International Database is periodically
available in hard copy, and will be disseminated to other internet sites
 in the future.

Thank you for your assistance in our effort to provide an accurate
and accessible tool for civic educators around the world. We hope that
our database is a useful resource to you and your organization. In
addition, if you know of other organizations that are active in civic
education for democracy which should be included in the database, please
direct them to the Civnet interactive registration form, or send us their
name and address (including e-mail address, if available).

Thank you for taking the time to fill out the information requested.
