The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill
Master of Arts Degree in Russian/East European Studies

This is a new degree with a new vision, a vision that brings
together language, area studies, and all the disciplines and
professional training a university can offer. This is the FIRST
degree ever to permit the combination of scientific and
technical/professional skills with Russian and East European area
studies.

This degree has three components:

* Language study up to advanced level available in Bulgarian,
Czech, Macedonian, Polish, Russian, and Serbo-Croatian (on
staggered schedules)

* Area studies and core courses addressing national and
transnational issues of the region

* The disciplinary concentration of your choice, e.g. chemistry
etc., topped off by a thesis project of your design
