Local Government Information Clearinghouse Passes Double Millennium
On September 21 the number of policy documents passed the 2000 mark in the
Local Government Information Network (LOGIN) online library. This unique
resource is available at no cost through the Internet. LOGIN currently
offers full text documents for download in nine regional languages and in
English. The objective of the LOGIN Library is to enhance the capacity and
professionalism of local government decision makers through regional
information exchange. The Library contains information on the most important
local government related policy areas including municipal finance, social
policy, legislation, citizen participation, municipal management, and
minority issues. Users can search the library using keywords and browse
content grouped into 26 topic categories. Clients for LOGIN can also take
advantage of a news service, information on funding opportunities, a
calendar of events, and a special collection of EU related documents. Please
visit www.logincee.org to have access to all English language documents in
the Library. To access documents in Polish, Latvian, Lithuanian, Slovak,
Hungarian, Bulgarian and Ukrainian follow the links from www.logincee.org to
the Web sites of the seven LOGIN national partner organizations.
