IESC is the largest not-for-profit business development organization in the world, utilizing its 13,000-strong database of senior-level
professionals -- who donate their time and experience -- to improve private and public enterprises in more than 50 developing countries and emerging markets. IESC has provided effective, results-oriented assistance to businesses, nonprofits, and governmental agencies in 120 countries over the last 34 years and in Armenia specifically over the last 9 years. IESC Representative Office in Armenia, fully funded by USAID, is supporting the establishment of BusinessLink Armenia in order to provide various development services for SMEs in Armenia.
For example, the BusinessLink Armenia Local Consultant-Textile and Shoe Manufacturing Industry Assistance Programs will:
* Research, identify, and inform Armenian textile companies about the IESC/BLA Textile and Shoe Manufacturing Development Program.
* Organize presentation of IESC/BLA Textile and Shoe Manufacturing Development Program to key audiences.
* Organize an open competition to select the participating companies for the program.
* Help develop a BusinessLink marketing strategy to promote the exports of textile industry products of the selected companies.
* Conduct needs assessments of the winners and develop an outline for IESC and BusinessLink technical assistance projects for selected companies.
* Assist the IESC Volunteer Executive in implementing technical assistance projects for the selected companies. (On a case-by-case basis, this might include some interpretation and translation assistance.)
* Help implement the BusinessLink marketing and sales strategy for the Armenian textile and shoe manufacturing industry.
