Khabarovsk Productivity Center

The Productivity Center is an example of a new type of organization dedicated to assisting those moving toward or into business. This entrepreneurial training facility is patterned after the Small Business Development Center in the US. The Productivity Center employs consultants to assist, support and motivate individuals currently in business. It also facilitates networking among its clients and acts as a conduit for foreign investors in the private sector. The center has its origin in government and is quickly developing a life of its own. This type of operation naturally lends itself to self-supporting business activities such as consulting, accounting, legal assistance, licensing and permitting, training etc. Mikhail Azaryonok is well suited to manage the center with strong credentials in economics, good political instincts and an undeniable enthusiasm for the free market. Khabarovsk Psychiatry Hospital includes about 700 patients plus additional outpatients. The hospital recently added a ward for elderly female dementia patients. Outpatient services include a facility for patients to sew hospital linens, and apply glue to make envelopes.

Peace Corps

Working with the Krai government, Peace Corps volunteers conduct seminars in computer education and economics. At least one volunteer is serving as a consultant to Regio Bank.
