Khingan Nature Reserve
This nature reserve operates a conservation and restoration program for endangered cranes, storks, and other birds. It has worked closely with Sergei Smirenskii and the Inteernational Crane Foundation to protect wetland habitats; it has also worked with the Russian Socio-Ecological Union (SEU) and the Earth Island Institute to promote ecotourism to the region.
