Anna, Co., Ltd.
This women's commercial-charitable organization runs an educational center for unemployed women. Based in Vladivostok and staffed by 27 employees --21 of whom are women -- Anna sponsors regular business courses for women in leadership, training in economic planning and accounting, and courses in driving and hairdressing. Using local and regional specialists as trainers, the center has already trained hundreds of women and helped those who have completed their courses to find work. The organization has worked with the Australian Embassy in Moscow to co-sponsor a three-week seminar for women on "starting your own business". Anna also runs two stores in the city of Vladivostok, a sewing factory, a tourist center, a newspaper and a restaurant called "Rosse". Commercial ventures -- buying and selling foodstuffs and electronics -- are supported by contracts with South Korean firms and Sigma, an American firm based in Seattle, WA.

City Council of Women
Together with governmental structures, this organization develops social protection programs for women and children from large and single-parent families. They provide emergency help to women in difficult situations, fight to preserve the moral and spiritual values of human beings. They organize women to produce handicrafts to generate income. It also distributes food and clothing donated by foreign organizations, to at-risk families.

ESTA
Founded by Tatiana Guseinova, a former teacher at a commercial institute, with support for friends, former students and interested sponsors. Four main activities include: 1) selling timber to Japan; 2) legal consulting; 3) registration of enterprises; and 4) evaluation of real estate. The company employs thirteen full-time employees and several sub-contractors, and after three years, is just beginning to make a profit. Future goals include forming a club for business women in Vladivostok based on the Rotary model.
