TITLE: Leadership Trainer/Temporary Consultant

ABOUT IREX: IREX is an international nonprofit organization dedicated to the
advancement of knowledge. Central to its mission is the empowering of
individuals and institutions to participate meaningfully in civil society.
IREX administers programs between the United States and Eastern Europe, the
New Independent States (NIS), Asia, and the Near East.
ABOUT IREX IN RUSSIA: IREX has administered programs in Russia since 1968.
IREX established its Moscow office in 1989 and has since expanded with
representation across the country. IREX programs in Russia span NGO
development, US-Russian partnership building, academic exchanges,
professional training, and academic advising.
SUMMARY OF POSITION: IREX seeks a consultant for an assignment in Moscow,
Russia November 9-11, 2001. The consultant will provide a training seminar
approximately 10 hours long (over a day and a half period) to a group of
approximately 80 Russian alumni of the Russian-US Young Leadership Fellows
for Public Service (YLF) Program. For more information about this program

The training will focus on topics pertaining to leadership within the public
sector, both government and non-profit, including but not limited to:
� non-profit management;
� competitive decision-making;
� managerial excellence
� leadership development;
� strategic planning; and
� organizational transformation.
The language of the event is English.
IREX will provide transportation, lodging, per diem for incidental expenses,
visa support, and an honorarium to the selected consultant.
QUALIFICATIONS
The successful candidate should possess:
� Substantial experience designing and providing interactive training
seminars in the above-mentioned fields;
� Experience working with at least one of the following: NGOs,
international development agencies, nongovernmental organizations, and
action groups in the Newly Independent States (NIS) or Eastern Europe;
� Excellent public speaking skills;
� Knowledge of Russian is preferred.
