Outreach Coordinator for Area Studies

Application review begins January 15 and continues until position is
filled.  Responsibilities include design, coordination, and implementation
of outreach initiatives (conferences, workshops, special projects)
sponsored by the area centers at KU; liaison with other KU agencies, K-16
educators, community, business, and government constituencies; publication
of newsletter for teachers; maintenance of outreach web site; creation of
web and other outreach materials.  Requirements include interest in
international cultures; BA in appropriate field; excellent communication,
people, computer, and organizational skills; experience with project
planning; willingness to travel.  Preferred qualifications include
specialization in Russian/East European Studies, MA, knowledge of HTML or
Java, grant writing and desk-top publishing experience.
