INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITY

ISAR is a nonprofit organization that promotes citizen participation and the
development of the nongovernmental sector in the countries of the Former
Soviet Union.  ISAR's offices in the United States and Eurasia support
citizen activists and grassroots nongovernmental organizations in their
efforts to create just and sustainable societies.
ISAR seeks a part-time intern to begin in January.  The internship will
include programmatic and administrative responsibilities.
ISAR internships provide students and recent graduates with excellent
opportunities to:
�  Acquire more knowledge of issues in the former Soviet Union (FSU);
�  Learn about NGOs and develop a greater understanding of NGO work;
�  Gain practical experience in program work;
�  Gain administrative experience;
�  Establish useful contacts.
Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
Assisting the Partnership and Exchange Program Manager with:
�  Coordinating and implementing the Russian Nuclear Safety Activism Program
and the Azerbaijan NGO Partnerships Program;
�  Proofreading, editing, and assembling grant proposals;
� Maintaining informational listserves;
�  General administrative support
Desired Qualifications:
�  Interest and knowledge in the FSU;
�  Strong writing skills;
�  Knowledge of one or more languages of the FSU;
�  An interest in NGOs;
�  Experience with Macintosh computers and applications (Word, Pagemaker,
Filemaker, HTML/Internet);
�  Previous office experience.
Terms:
�  Starts in early January;
�  10-15 hours per week;
�  Hourly wage.
