[CivilSoc] Young Europe/EuRussia - request for help

Dear friends,
This is a request for help with Russian-English translation for a new bilingual web and paper based debating forum on Russia's integration into Europe.
The forum, called "Yevropeets" in its Russian version and "EuRussia" in English, was initially going to be launched in late 1999 as a printed journal. Unfortunately, funding was stopped, and most members left the steering group.
It is now going to be taken up as an occasional debating page in the daily "Vremya-MN", and in a web version hosted by a club of young Russian professionals abroad.
The project has no funding and entirely depends on the enthusiasm of those working on it. It is now being supported by a new Russian grassroots youth movement called "Young Europe", created by the Youth Human Rights Movement, a network organisation with members across the former Soviet Union.
Articles that have come in are currently being translated into Russian by volunteers from "Young Europe". In order to launch the project successfully, we badly need help with Russian-English translation. There are only 5-6 articles that need to be translated for the pilot version (about 4-6000 words each). We are looking for English-speaking volunteers who'd be prepared to translate at least one article each by (roughly) the 20th of December.
WHAT CAN WE OFFER IN EXCHANGE?
- Contacts with youth and human rights organisations across Russia and the FSU
- acknowledgment at publication
- a certificate (issued by the editors of "Vremya-MN" or any other friendly organisation) mentioning that you have done voluntary translation - this can be useful when job-hunting in the NGO, translation or journalism sectors
- the possibility of paid work in the future (once the project has secured funding), if the translation is of sufficient quality.

PPS: Don't be deterred by the term "Europe": we have lots of American authors, too! :-)
