Dear CivilSoc subscribers:
As I indicated in an earlier e-mail, Civil Society International is
moving its listserv, CivilSoc, to a new platform: the server of
Partners International based in Washington, DC. The new server
provides, among other things, an archiving function for CivilSoc
posts--which has been unavailable since February.
We have moved all the subscribers on the Friends & Partners server to
the Partners International server and we have tried to transfer over
each of your personal preference settings (e.g., receiving CivilSoc
in digest form).
This message is being set to your address on both the new Partners
International server and the old Friends and Partners server. If you
receive this message only one time--i.e., only from
[email protected] means that somehow you were not
added to the list on the Partners International server. Go to the
new sign-up page for CivilSoc and add your e-mail address to the
list. That page is at:
http://lists.civilsoc.org/mailman/listinfo/civilsoc
Or send me an e-mail if you have difficulty doing that.

Previously when you made posts to CivilSoc, you sent your e-mail
message to: [email protected]
Henceforth, please send your CivilSoc postings to:
[email protected]
We want to take this opportunity to thank Aaron LaMar and his
Partners International organization for agreeing to host CivilSoc.
With 2,200 members (and growing) and hundreds of postings a year,
CivilSoc is not a light responsibility or an easy list to host.
Partners International, based in Washington, DC, has deep experience
in the NIS and CEE region and is an excellent source of Internet and
global communications solutions to the international development
community. Please visit their website to learn about the range of
services--listservs, web hosting, consulting, and more--that they
offer. They are at http://www.partners-intl.net.
We also wish to express our sincere gratitude to Greg Cole and
Natasha Bulashova, founders of the Friends & Partners project, which
hosted CivilSoc from 1994 to this year.
