TITLE: Chief of Party, IREX/Kosovo Media Development

POSITION LOCATION: Pristina, Kosovo
ABOUT IREX:

programs between the United States and the countries of Eastern Europe, the
New Independent States, Asia, and the Near East.  IREX fosters excellence in
services to internal and external customers and encourages all staff to
continuously improve the systems and processes that are essential to our
work.
SUMMARY OF POSITION: 
IREX seeks applicants for the position of Chief of Party for the Kosovo
Independent Media Program (KIMP).  KIMP is a USAID funded project operating
throughout Kosovo and headquartered in Pristina.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Primary responsibilities include the following:
� Design and implement activities in support of project goals to include
training and consulting for print and broadcast media in journalism and
business management, small grants to media organizations, support of private
news agency, legal reform, and association development.
� Manage expatriate and Kosovar staff and short-term trainers and
consultants
� Supervise administration of office to include budget control
� Provide IREX and USAID with accurate and comprehensive reporting on
program activities.	
QUALIFICATIONS:
The ideal candidate will have many, if not all, of the following
qualifications:
�	Good reporting and editing credentials and the ability to teach and
tutor effectively 
�	Solid Management Experience
�	Broadcast background, preferably television
�	Knowledge of media law
�	International experience, preferably Kosovo or Balkans
