Position Opening:
International Executive Service Corps (IESC) and BusinessLink Armenia

IESC is the largest not-for-profit business development organization in the
world, utilizing its thirteen thousand strong database of senior-level
professionals -- who donate their time and experience -- to improve private
and public enterprises in more than 50 developing countries and emerging
markets. IESC has provided effective, results-oriented assistance to
businesses, nonprofits, and governmental agencies in 120 countries over the
last 34 years and in Armenia specifically over the last 9 years. IESC
Representative Office in Armenia, fully funded by USAID, is supporting the
establishment of BusinessLink Armenia and therefore seeks qualified
applicants to work on specific consulting projects and other business
development services for SMEs in Armenia.
BusinessLink Armenia Local Consultant-Textile and Shoe Manufacturing
Industry Assistance Program
Responsibilities of the BusinessLink Local Consultant working on
implementation of BusinessLink Textile and Shoe Manufacturing Industry
Assistance Program include but are not limited to:
* Research, identify, and inform Armenian textile companies about the
IESC/BLA Textile and Shoe Manufacturing Development Program.
* Organize presentation of IESC/BLA Textile and Shoe Manufacturing
Development Program to key audiences.
* Organize an open competition to select the participating companies for
the program.
* Help develop a BusinessLink marketing strategy to promote the exports of
textile industry products of the selected companies.
* Conduct needs assessments of the winners and develop an outline for IESC
and BusinessLink technical assistance projects for selected companies.
* Assist the IESC Volunteer Executive in implementing technical assistance
projects for the selected companies. (On a case-by-case basis, this might
include some interpretation and translation assistance.)
* Help implement the BusinessLink marketing and sales strategy for the
Armenian textile and shoe manufacturing industry.
Skills/qualifications: University degree in Business Administration,
Economics, or related field, basic accounting, bookkeeping
experience/skills; very good understanding of textile industry and relevant
experience is a must; excellent knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and Access
programs required, highly developed sense of responsibility, and attention
to detail. Flexible schedule and ability to work weekends and evenings
when necessary. Fluency in English and Armenian required.
Reports to: This consultant will work under the guidance of the
BusinessLink Armenia and IESC project officers.
Salary: commensurate with salary history and experience.
Position length: This position will be for three months with the
possibility of a three-month extension.

Marketing & Sales opening announced in November 2001. All interested
