Dear Colleagues,
We are seeking an appropriate U.S.-based organization to make a joint
project. There is an opportunity to participate in the grant competition
announced by Foundation for Russian American Economic Cooperation
(FRAEC) & United States Agency for International Development (USAID), called
"United States - Russian Far East Partnership Activity". Please refer to

Firn Club is a 12-year old non-governmental non-profit organization, located
in the city of Ulan-Ude the capital of the Republic of Buryatia, Russia. We
have done a lot of various environmental and social projects in the area of
Lake Baikal. We are experienced in supporting of civic
initiatives and grant managing. Our organization is a Buryatia Affiliate of
the Inter-regional Public Foundation Siberian Civic Initiatives Support
Center. We have staff of 15. Regrettably, we don't have our own webpage in

We would like to share our common ideas with you in order to elaborate a
competitive proposal for this grant round. If you are interested in, please
note the deadline is September, 30.
The main goal of the project is to improve professionalism of the local
authorities in the field of management of local resources, to develop
cooperation between local authorities and community as well as between our
organizations.
Within the project we are planning:
- Seminars "School of Democracy" are for the local authorities on effective
regional and municipal management. Here we would like to invite
specialists from your organization.
- Internships for representatives from governments and NGOs are for
development of links between government of Republic of Buryatia and your
state/city.
One of the results of the project would be a possibility for Buryat NGOs to
take part in distribution of financial and other resources for the community
development.

your experience with us.
