JOB ANNOUNCEMENT
Program Coordinator, Uzbekistan
(Uzbek Citizens Only)
Project Harmony (PH), an international not-for-profit organization,
dedicated to promoting active citizenship and the strengthening of
international communities, is looking for an individual to fill the position of Program Coordinator in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. The Program Coordinator will provide general logistical and programmatic assistance to Project Harmony as the organization establishes a presence in Uzbekistan. Reporting to the Central Asia Development Team Leader, the Program Coordinator's duties will include, but not be limited to:
* Registering Project Harmony as a legal entity under Uzbek law
* Communicating regularly on registration developments, potential
partnerships, program opportunities, and complementary initiatives with the Development Team
* Supporting visiting delegations by making travel and lodging arrangements, providing translations, arranging meetings, etc.
* Meeting with potential partners, officials, and other parties
* Serving as Project Harmony's primary contact point in Tashkent
* Managing a small operating fund and providing accounting of expenses
* Researching and reporting Uzbek labor codes to Central Asia Development Team Leader
* Finding office space for 6-10 staff members
* Responding to inquiries and requests for information
* Providing a list of Internet providers and their prices; providing a list of publishers and their prices
Qualifications Sought:
* Two-three years' experience with an international NGO
* Exceptional communication skills in English, Uzbek, and Russian
* Computer skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
* Solid Internet and e-mail skills
* Completed higher education (copy of diploma required)
* Ability and flexibility to travel throughout the country and Central Asia
* Alumnus/alumna of an international exchange program
* Strong commitment to community and organizational development
* Clear understanding of the Uzbek system of education
* Uzbek citizen with valid passport
