The Center for Democracy, a Washington, DC-based international non-partisan,
non-profit organization that assists democratic development, seeks a Program
Officer. Working with the Program Director, the Program Officer is
responsible for development and implementation of the Center's programs,
including conferences and seminars, delegation visits, publications, and
other activities focusing primarily on the rule of law and legislative
development. The Program Officer will serve as a liaison with professional
contacts in the U.S. and abroad, draft correspondence and program material,
oversee program logistics, accompany delegations throughout their visits to
Washington, fundraise for new programs and draft program proposals, and
conduct research on legislative, governmental, and rule of law issues in
regions of Center programs (Europe, Eurasia, Central and South America,
Asia, Middle East.)
BA required, Masters preferred. Excellent verbal and written English skills
required. Fluency in Russian highly desirable. U.S. Citizen or Permanent
Resident only. Prior program coordination and supervisory experience
