ANNIVERSARY OF CHERNOBYL ACCIDENT

* Socio-Ecological Union of Mariy El republic and republican
Chernobyl Union are planning to publish some leaflets about
Chernobyl to distribute that on April 26. Contact: Svetlana

* "Karelian Association of Greens" plans to organize some
publications in Karelian newspapers. Also postcard campaign
for regional nuclear free zone will take place there. Contact:

* "Zeleny Don" environmental group will organize anti-nuclear
walk from Volgodonsk to Postov NPP. The group also plans to
organize special conference in May about public expertize on
Rostov NPP. The group also plans to organize public hearing on

* From April 24 to April 29, 1996, " Environmental education"
group in Zaporozhie/Uktaine organizes the forum of young

* First issue of new international newspaper "World Agenda 21
news" and its Internet-digest will be issued both on 10th
anniversary of Chernobyl. This issue will be focused on

organizing the performance of children art groups to
commemorate 10th anniversary of Chernobyl. It's possibly that
one local environmental citizen group will organize the action
near Balakovo NPP (Saratov region) in April 1996. Contact:

* Kostroma Ecological Movement "Vo imya zhizni" is planning to
organize demonstration and press-conference on TV on April 26,
1996. Also this Movement is collecting the signatures to

* Citizen group in Svetly city (Kaliningrad region) will
organize the meeting between citizens and people who were
working in Chernobyl in April 1986. Also group plans the
exhibition of children puctures focused on nuclear thematics.

* The citizen group in Samara (Volga region of Russia) is
planning to show anti-nuke video on local TV. Contact: Oleg

* "Ecological Initiative" group in Tomsk (Russian Siberia)
will: organize some publications, organize TV program on
connections between Chernobyl accident and nuclear industry of

* NEKO non-governmental environmental organizations is
planning to organize direct action in Kiev on April 23, 1996.

* ECODEFENSE! and Anti-nuclear campaign are planning to
organize the lectures and slide show on April 26, 1996 in
Kaliningrad. The slide show will be about nuclear industry,
with participation of Harvey Wasserman, anti-nuke activist
