Subject: Workcamps in Voronezh seek volunteers & partners

Dear Sirs,

We would like to draw your attention to the programme "Passage Zebra".
The main aims of this programme are to bring together young people of
different nationalities, to further the integration and mutual
enrichment of our cultures, and to attract the attention of young
Europeans and Americans to the problems of contemporary Russia.

Our programme is worked out in accordance with the main principles of
the "Workcamps" movernment. It foresees not only the organisation of
"Workcamps" in the Central Black Earth region, but also the involvement
of young Russians in the camps arranged by our partnership organisations
in Europe. We work in the field of archeology, ecology, restoration of
architectural monuments and though the spectrum of our activity is
rather varied, we are paying special attention to the organisation of
children's camps.

We suggest holding these children's camps during the summer 1996.

1. 02.06.96-20.06.96
2. 23.06.96-14.07.96
3. 17.07.96-14.08.96
4. 15.08.96-30.08.96

The volunteers will be working with Russian children aged 10 to 15
years old in our summer camps. The group will consist of about 40
children in all. We have worked out a programme of activities on the
basis of an international cultural, exchange of music, traditions and
customs, clothes, national holidays and dishes. We nevertheless remain
open to volunteers own ideas. During the camp there will be excursions
around the town of Voronezh and the region. Voronezh is a town of
about 1,000,000 inhabitants and is known as the cradle of the Russian
fleet since Peter the Great built it here. The 300th anniversary of
this occasion is this year and there will be celebrations ! Voronezh
is also renowned for its university, theatres and many museums. There
will be 10-15 volunteers of different nationalities of which 5 will be
Russians already working for our organisation. The methology , "Slavs"
programme, has been approved but it is the first time that the camps
to be held from the participants of different countries.

We hope that you will be interested in our project and wait you halp
in seeking partners in USA and Europe and volonteers for this camps.

Our E-mail: [email protected]

We appriciate you halp and belive that our cooperation will help to
futher strengthen understanding and friendship between our countries.
